A counterparty is an account onboarded into Maplerad in order to make the account eligible to receive payment from a customer's account. It is important to create a counterparty in order to ensure the potential recipient is qualified to receive payment. USD accounts that are not counterparties to a Maplerad USD account can not receive payment from that account.
