Persistent location sharing on Android

I’m trying to set up "Until you turn this off" location sharing in Google Maps on my Android, but it keeps resetting to 24 hours. Is this a new security restriction in 2026, or is there a specific setting I need to toggle in my Google Account to make it permanent?
